Welcome To Twelve Fountains

Twelve Fountains Smart City (A Catalytic Project for KZN Province and SA) was initiated and conceptualized in February 2016 by Mandla Mkhabela and funding thereof. Later engaged services of COA and Sagnelli Architects to further refine the concept, concept document will be shared. I had initially engaged Urban Econ to conduct a high-level study in 2018, that study outcome had positive pointers. In 2019 I then appointed Rain Maker Marketing to conduct an in-depth study, to guide my decisions. After numerous unsuccessful attempts in raising capital, I finally opted to release equity in 2019 to Mr Mkhwanazi and Mr Mahaye. The Project was named Twelve Fountains as there are twelve fountains on site. Located in Newcastle KZN on the urban edge of Aviary Park, Land size is 121 Hectares, prime site and highest point in Newcastle with Northern Drakensberg breath taking views and city views. Current zoning is agricultural. At the highest point, it has a British Main Fort, called Fort Amiel, this I established after noticing stone pattern, then commissioning a historian to conduct further investigation, so, it’s a heritage site. We have appointed the Town Planner and his team to commence with rezoning, we however awaiting transfer of the property to Twelve Fountains to enable him and his team to commence.
